Won't happen, and I doubt he really expects number one status.
McLaren has two former world champions in their team, and this has occurred before, with Prost and Senna, etc. The team values internal competition in a way that Ferrari does not, who by the way, have never had two world champion drivers at the same time, though I could be wrong.
Regardless, giving Lewis number one status would likely mean they could lose JB, and would almost certainly have no opportunity to attract, Kimi, or Seb, or anyone of that quality in one or two year's time.
No, I think Lewis wants his trophies....
