I would say Vettel's analogy of the Ferrari is good. On pure pace, the Ferrari is definitely the 4th fastest car now. However, as Seb pointed out, it has tremendous consistency across all track and weather conditions while every other car has managed to struggle. Alonso's driving ability meant that at least some of his points lead is due to his ability alone. The car should not be underestimated though. It was a dog early on, but Fernando through talent and a little bit of fortune weathered the storm. Once the car was decent, Fernando pounced.
