@bjr - he didn't get a 10 place penalty for jumping the start, he got a five place penalty for jumping the start and another five place penalty for the collision he caused later on.
@Bob - it's not the stewards fault Maldonado crashed before they could administer his punishment. What do you think should happen, he gets no penalty at all? You're right in that a jump start is normally a drive through in race, or a drive through time applied post race, but Maldonao's inability to drive a clean race prevented those punishments being applied. I think a grid drop at Monza is appropriate, otherwise he gets away with it.
