I am very skeptical for two reasons. The severity of the injury, and time away from the sport. But his talent is immense and he is young. So, if rallying and rehab takes care of the injury and he can recuperate adequately, time in a simulator and perhaps a season or select races in GP2, or even INdy Car for that matter, would give him some strong open wheel competition.
And then it's a long shot...
Hey, Zanardi just won a couple of gold medals and stands a good chance of competing again at Indy. The will to compete is super strong in certain individuals.
