Lewis only has to win 2 races to double the performance of the Mercedes team this season. His qualifying alone will help improve their standings.
McLaran now has two very similar drivers and poor qualifiers. They are both good with tire wear but this has been less of a factor this year than 2011.
The problem with having two very similar drivers is how to split the strategies.
My prediction is that McLaran will win 3 or 4 races next year and so will Mercedes. 2014 is the key when McLaran may be a customer-engine car.
I laugh when I read comments from the people who claim Lewis is greedy. If your employer offered you a haircut, would you look at your options? Anybody whose skills are in-demand would.
Also, it has been reported that McLaran offered to match the Mercedes offer. If so, it would seem that they value his services. Perhaps they know more than you.
