I'm a little stumped on that myself. They started farting around with it in FP1 back in Silverstone (or was it Hockenheim..) and granted that they got washed out a few times during the tests, but you have to figure that even the straight line aero testing that could be done in the wet, combined with wind tunnel data, should have made it possible to try to run it at least in FP1 at Spa and Monza. And from all the talk, it sounded like Monza was the perfect venue to try to run it, but they didn't even bring it to the track.
So the only conclusion I can come to is that it's been proven to be unworkable and they just keep talking about it to keep some kind of Lotus buzz going.
Hope they prove me wrong, would love to see Kimi on the top step.
