I honestly think what people are moaning about is not that they begrudge ANY particular driver a WDC as such, but they want to see more wheel-to-wheel action like we saw today...because that it what they love about their "sport". The best drivers in the world battling it out wheel to wheel for the title rather than the same driver running and hiding, for four races in a row. It doesn't mean he's not a good driver, it just means that he doesn't get the chances to demonstrate what he can do in wheel to wheel battles.
Having said all of that, it's not his fault that his team hired an excellent bunch of engineers, led by a really calm talented leader in Newey. What's Seb supposed to do in that situation? Drive slowly and feel sorry for the others? I bet like Kimi, he doesn't really care about the others and just wants to cement his own legacy in the sport. And rightly so!
