Reliability plays an important part in the points for the championship more so regarding the engine because of the limited number that can be used, the situation as it stands with two races go is as follows.
Vettel, engine 8 was used in Korea and Abu Dhabi, he have engine 4 with one race only on it (European GP) all other 6 engines already done 2 and 3 races.
Alonso, engine 8 have done one race in Abu Dhabi, engine 5 not raced in Belgium.

Renault, cars 8, failures 4, races 18, percentage 2.8, entries 144.
FERRARI, cars 6, failures 0, races 18, percentage 0.0, entries 108.
No new engines were used by teams at Monaco, Hungarian and Singapore GP’S .
