In a season where anything can happen, there are no sure things in the next two events. If Vettel wins at Austin, Fernando needs to be 4th or better to avoid a tie or elimination. He can do that handily. If Seb retires and Alonso wins, it still goes to Brazil, where Seb can still take it. All the blather about Alonso being in a superior position should it rain is just that. Vettel can do what he has to in whatever conditions, just as Alonso can. I don't see a clinch in Austin, unless something stupid happens. A win here can go to anyone, so we'll just have to wait and see.
