The advantage this track has is that it is close to Mexico, even if the US fans don't embrace it the Mexicans will. They have a driver to follow, possibly 2 next year, and they do have a passion for F1. They are also closer to the track than most Americans so I reckon the race will be a success regardless.
As to whether it will bring in US fans is a different matter, that probably hangs in the balance and depends on how exiting the eacing actually is on the track. we won't know that for another week yet.
