In essence, GREAT IDEA! They do it in MotoGP and WSBK and occasionally they surprise and cause a lot of excitement (Hopper - Silverstone 2011).
BUT, the problem comes in that an F1 car is a VERY DIFFERENT BEAST to almost ANYTHING these guys would drive in a local series (Unless they DO get a decent F1 support/junior class in the States - USF3???)
Second problem, an F1 car costs WAAAAAYYYY more than any MotoGP bike. and they are at much higher speed almost everywhere on a circuit.
That all said though, I like the idea of a feeder series in the states, maybe it could even entise Ford / Dodge / Chevy to try get an F1 team in development.
