sunny. yeah. the current f1 engine probably owes more to cosworth than to renault.
re the alternators. again you are correct. the innards are provided by mm, but the casings etc are all pure renault. i did see somewhere that the precise problem area was in a bearing. not sure if that is correct or not, but overheating of a bearing could be causing the failure?
