Forget about personalities for a moment... He is joining a team with a world champion as a teammate who is very fast and loved by all on the team. He is replacing a driver who was a world champion, won 21 races, and might be the fastest guy in F1 when the car is working well. And he is joining a team that routinely competes at the sharp end of the grid in nearly every season. Of course there is pressure, and I wonder how he will manage this pressure. I agree that Hulkenberg might have been the better choice as I am not certain Perez can handle the scrutiny that he will encounter next year.
