Crash.net should have written "How Adrian Newey beat Alonso to the 2012 title". Because Red Bull took a lot of upgrades after Italy. Before that Vettel was 39 points behind Alonso, and a few points behind Hamilton and Raikkonen as well. And up to that point neither of them had a dominant car. Then Adrian Newey comes with his usual brillance and.....Vettel started to drive very, very well (better than Webber) the fastest car on the grid. Yes I agree that Red Bull sometimes made mistakes like in Abu Dhabi' qualifying or that early pitstop in Brazil, without mentioning the famous alternators, but aerodynimacilly it was the best pagage, and the most balanced one. So everyone with some understanding of F1, will agree that Vettel didn't do any better than Alonso, Raikkonen or Hamilton by his personal skills and talent but profited of the situation.
