@Reality Check McLaren had the fastest car overall I would say and a stronger engine than RBR. When Newey figured out how to switch on the tyres better after the big loss of the EBD the teams performance picked up. As I said in an earlier thread, any advantage was marginal this year and they (and Ferrari) were better at strategy calls than McLaren on the whole. They didn't have a big advantage as your remark seems to suggest.
