The pass on Kobayashi with so much at risk was career defining. Against all odds and against his teammate too, Vettel drove to legendary status. Alonso, on the other hand waited for his team, teammate and other's misfortune to hand him the championship. He should have been pounding personal best laps after personal best laps. He was behind in points and had nothing to lose by taking risks in the last race. Alonso is the most gifted driver in f1. He has been gifted the most wins since 2008. Senna, Schumacher, and all the other greats would have done everything they could to win that crown but not Alonso. He was content to wait for something bad to happen to others. Even wishing for Vettel's engine too break. It wasn't the car
