There are at least 5 other Sergio Perez's on the grid. Mclaren signed him for one reason only, he's the link to Carlos Slim. At the same time Lewis did his deal, this deal was done. Why ? Mclaren as an organistion are probably the best run Privately Funded (from a sponsorship/endorsment perspective) team in F1. They dont have the backing of a car giant (FIAT) and certainly dont have an energy Drink billionaire bankrolling everything. Who knows how long the VODAFONE agreement is, but one's things for sure, Sergio Perez was more of a commercial signing and is certainly NOT a talent waiting to explode.
He will win with Mclaren no doubt but Button should have the better of him, most of the time.
