There is a lot of balderdash going on here even by so called engineers about engines and their outputs. It is hard might be called foolish to imagine a team being supplied by an engine manufacturer being able to extract more HP from the supplied engine, FFS this is F1 engines of 2012 we are talking about and not an Anglia/Cortina/Mine engine. Whatever a team ECU engineer will do with engine mapping he is not going to be able to extract any more power than the manufacturer was able to extract. The rest said is the usual mind confusing assumptions which only help to confuse the subject under discussion which once started it gets out f control.
