My thoughts exactly. However this coincides with the Aldo Costa period, which saw a string of rather conservative designs and which also TBH was one of Ferrari's weakest in many years, even if Kimi managed to win a title in 2009. I think on paper letting Costa take over from Byrne was right, but somehow it didn't quite work out. Now Tombazis has taken over his role, and he has been involved in the design of a number of innovative cars at Benetton, McLaren and Ferrari. I think there will be more to come.
