Aside from Infiniti's sponsorship of Red Bull (and Renault actually owns Nissan), there is not any significant japanese component on any part of the grid.
The japanese companies that are in a position to help him are probably very loyal to Honda and Toyota. Those two being involved in Indy and Lemans now, there's no motivation to fund him in F1.
Too bad he says he has no interest in trying anything else. If he had wanted to try Indy, or lemans, while driving a Honda or Toyota engined chassis he would get whatever sponsorship he needed. Panasonic would pretty much sponsor any japanese driver, driving a japanese brand.
