Since when is it the driver's choice to help a teammate? If you are out of title contention, EVERY team wants you to help your teammate to win. What is the logical choice not to do so? Choice??? Please, I'd love to hear the conversation when Webber tells Marko or Horner that it was not his chosing to help Vettel.
As it relates to deserving the seat, no one deserves the seat. You earn your seat and based on Webbers finishing position in the WDC the past few years, it's obvious that he is not on the same level with Vettel. Webber is a clear #2 and those are a dime a dozen in F1. The real trick is to find and KEEP a #1 which there are only 3-5 on grid.
Finally, look again at the "restart" after the safety car period and tell me if Webber doesn't make life very difficult for Vettel. Personally, I had no problem with the start and didn't think Webber did anything wrong with giving his teammate space.
