@blublz Sharp observation about Hakkinen-DC. Kinda puts things in perspective. There might be a very small window of oppertunity for Button to gain a good amount of points on Perez in the first few races, putting some doubt in the McLaren head honchos about Perez' qualities which could tilt the team towards favouring Button for the rest of the year, particularly if they have a car quick enough to have a real shot at the driver's championship. But I reckon this window is really quite small and if he doesn't pull it off or the car isn't quick enough anyway, McLaren won't get behind him and the fastest man will prevail.
