bryan. with exotic materials banned,and with the engines being only lightly stressed, development costs should not be great. the engines will be more fuel efficient than the v8s. i know that the cost of petrol is basically irrelevant, as is the lowering of co2 emmissions, but there is now a general trend in the motor industry , to downsize and to use turbos. i think that you will find merc, ferrari, mclaren all producing road cars with similar engines.
