Caterham, Marussia and HRT have been slated for being so slow but back in the mid nineties there were teams 10s slower and more, with up to 28 cars in quali and a lot of slow teams, it brings things in to perspective. 26 cars were allowed to race until the 107% rule was brought in for safety, but before that it was hell of a lot harder for the front runners with no blue flags for them to pass. I can't remember who was commentating back then but one quote sticks in my head. "They must call the team Forti because they are lapped 40 times every race".
