del boy is well enough off, to not have to worry where the next few bob are coming from. to suggest that the government (meaning the taxpayer) put money into a racing circuit that is only of benefit to the reasonably well off, is laughable. there are plenty of super rich, such as bernie, who could well afford to return some of their wealth to the sport, if they really wanted to. as regards young drivers. well we dont like pay drivers, but the ones who show promise are usually taken under the wing of a rich uncle, so again, if they want to, individuals could sponsor some of the youngsters. but again, to ask that the taxpayer pay for some youngsters to participate in their sport, is just not on. what next? the taxpayer to pay for footballers?
