The guy is only 22 now. His last season he was 21. He had a solid season in 2011. They should have kept him.
He can't be expected to deliver Vettel's results in the STR, because at that time STR was using Red Bull's chassis. And because of Vettel's win in the STR, other midpack teams cried "foul".
It's amazing how Santander isn't backing up more spanish talent. Sure it focuses more attention on Alonso by making him more popular, but when he retires, that will leave a big void for all the spanish fans currently drawn to F1 because of him. They could leave the sport in droves.
