I liked Trulli, he could be really quick on his day. He makes a good point about pay drivers, but it's also true to say that F1 has always been an expensive sport and there has always been a few well supported drivers, along with a few rich kids, who've driven when perhaps they should not have done. But I don't agree with his point about needing manufacturers in F1, not as constructors anyway (of course, you need them for the engines) Here are the teams for the 1989 season - Benneton, McLaren, Williams, Ferrari, Zakspeed, Arrows, Lotus, March, Brabham, Tyrell, March, Osella, Oynx, Dallara, Minardi, Ligier, Coloni, Lola, EuroBrun, First, Rial. This was when I first became aware of F1 and it seemed to be pretty exciting and is looked back on as a halcyon period, some all-time great drivers on the grid, some epic races!
