Well said DC. However, being a Scottsman his opinion becomes irrelevant. With all the energy used by Australian media to promote a negative feeling towards the GP, they could also investigate the cost in holding the Australian Open every 12 months. How is it taxpayer dollars well spent in constructing another roof over a tennis court. When does the public ever get access to the dozens of tennis courts within Melbourne Park? If my tax is going to be used on a sporting event rather than on hospitals, schools, police or roads, I much prefer it to be spent on an exciting spectacle like the GP rather than tennis or the extremely boring commonwealth games that we had in 2006 for example. I must admit we did get some decent infrastructure from the games.
