As a woman whose dream is to reach the pinnacle of motorsport, I certainly do hope we see women in F1 soon. But I hope they are there because of their talent, and not their connections or willingness to take their kit off. That hurts the advancement of women in sport more than anything.
The road to Formula 1 is littered with drivers who couldn't hack it, or had the talent but not the opportunity, etc.,. These days a driver has to be something extraordinary to even get to Formula 1, much less stay there, and sometimes even that is not enough. Even so, I'm sure we will see a woman on the top step of the podium, but it may not be right away.
