It's not impossible, but it's rather improbable. For every woman in motorsport, how many men are there? It's the same for any male driver, just that when it's a male driver... well they're all male drivers, so no one's looking at that. But every driver trying to make it to F1 has to be one of the very best in their field to justify moving forward. Just on numbers, the odds of that top person being the one female on the grid (in the rare case that there even is one) are not great. I don't believe it's impossible for there to be a competitive female F1 driver, but it's unlikely to happen soon unless there's a big increase in the female interest in racing.
