Lulu has done the fastest time up to the third day of this test and it is also the fastest time out of the two tests at the same place, so far so good, all credit to him and Mercedes, Mercedes believes their gain to be closer to one half second. Contrary to some I read a lot out of these test times, what I read is my own personal ability of interpreting these testing times. Here is some information as to this 3rd test and Lulu’s best time. Lulu’s time was set on an unmarked set of (prototype) soft tyres, he was on a five lap stint which means he had less than 20kg of fuel, his best lap on mediums was 1-20, 817 which was very good indeed. It is the first time Mercedes have used soft tyres in these tests as they were only interested to see were they stand re the tyres problems of last year (degradation). They were the team most affected by hot weather. To be continued.
