The car that won a race and got a pole early in the season was the same car what got turnt over mid way on. .the car hadn't changed it's just the others caught up on the development.
This is why it's all so exciting to watch f1 now ..regs haven't been substantially changed since 2009 giving the lesser teams time to catch up.
You gotta forget what happened back then. .you just need to know where the car was in November. .it was 2.5 off P1...you gotta factor in there development as well ..so add another second to that. .making it 3.5 off the pace.
Fast forward Q3 Oz Mercedes are .7 off the pace of Red Bull on a damp track. .I personally think that's a great achievement. .as long as they keep on developing at the same rate as they are now really the sky's the limit.
