DC stated that Hamilton had the beating of Nico back in their karting days. Hamilton is an F1 driver on merit. Right time, right place? To quote Arry Redknapp, 'forsure'!
However, I think the tyre issue is curbing the out and out racer that he is. If he is to win another WDC he is going to need the best car which Seb has had for 3 years or a substantial change in the tyres. They need to last and allow the 'racers' to race and not allow the best car or best management drivers who are not necessarily the fastest ala JB to contest the front.
Having said that Nico must feel a little disturbed so early in the season to have to defer. Hamilton IS the faster driver and offers Merc their best chance of challenging.
Ross Brawn knows other teams will do the same and is only following their lead.
Once again, well done Hamilton in acknowledging his luck today.
