The Driver's Championship is important to the few teams that are capable of employing drivers and producing cars that have the potential to win it, realistically this is proably only 50% of the field and by the time the championship is 75% complete there are usually only 3 or 4 drivers left with a shout. I believe that to the rest of the teams their position in the constructors championship is more important as it dictates their percentage of money earned under the Concorde Agreement. Witness the scrap between Caterham and Marussia in Brazil last year to gain 10th place in the constructors championship - probably worth a good percentage (maybe 30%) of their 2013 budget ? Maybe someone has the figures earned by the teams due to their positions in the constructors championship?
