I'm in the minority here. I agree with the 'smattering' of posters here lately, that is F1 is confused and doesn't know what it wants to be.
The most successful racing person, the regular winning type, is both skilled and unsentimental in their execution. This is true in any non-relay, single competitor sport.
F1 should consider the following to clear up ambiguity.
1. Either adopt relay mode for two driver/car teams and remove driver championship ratings.
2. ditch the second driver and increase the number of teams participating.
3. Force disclosure to audiences worldwide on who is the deferring driver for each team as part of the rule and strategy base.
Personally I'm gald Seb took it to Mark, the both fought well. Maybe I've been spoiled with two rider team motorcycle racing.
