contd. so simply put..seb would not know how much fuel he had. as fuel weighs, and weight slows the car down, all teams put in the very minimum amount envisaged for a race distance.
as regards tyres..temps , pressures etc are monitored ok, bu it is the drivers sight and feel that tells the story. rbr told seb that there was "concern" for his left front. it looked ok on tv, so it may have been an effort to slow seb down. the tyres DO have a finite life and drop off is quite severe, but i reckon that seb would have been the one to spot this, not the pits.
