chris. yes, vettel admits he messed up and apologies for that. but you have to read all the comments coming from red bull. no actual order was radioed to him. only an order to turn down engine, via a display on dash. he may or may not have seen that. we dont know if he saw it or not, but the fact that he did not interpret it as staying behind, could be the reason that he realises he messed up. from some pundits comments, it was only when webber said 21 to him, that he realised his mistake.
whatever the real truth is, it does not take from the fact that there was no reason for team orders of any sort, or that when webber would not accede to them last year, there was no witchhunt.
if rbr decide to punish him, that is there perogative, but as you may be aware, even webber has said that there was some ambiguity.
