Actually I still fundamentally agree with what Pirelli are trying to do in their policy. It's obviously the execution that is subject to questioning while I would recognise that it is something very difficult to achieve.
Do people remember how it was with Bridgestone tyres in 2010 ? Basically, drivers used the soft until the 10th, pit in and basta until the end of the race ! How exciting was that ?
While I like the idea of tyres emulating what would different specs do in a tyre war, the fact that the "cliff" is too brutal, difficult to predict and manage for teams and also the fact that the softer compound does not bring a significant advantage of performance during the race.
The day we'll see a conservative strategy of making one less pit stop which indeed leads to nurse your rubber and an offensive strategy with one more softer compound pit stop bear fruit in the same race, that day the objective will be reached and Lewis can have fun...
