ben, gp, in 2009, the last time McLaren produced a real dog of a car, Lewis had a spell, from Spain to the British GP where he finished 12, 13, 16, 18. He supposed 'superior set up skills didn't help him then, eh? There are some things you cannot drive around, or dial out of a car! After Silverstone, the real low point, Lewis then won the Hungarian GP and was competitive for the rest of the season. The team, obviously including Lewis, finally got a handle on the cars problems, new parts worked and they were away!
Jenson was in 5th place in Sepang when McLaren blew the pit stop. His strategy meant that he would have been up with the Mercedes after their last stop. If that's not a turn around I don't know what is?
richard, good info. Very interesting!
