Team orders used in GP/F1 racing are grossly misunderstood by a lot of followers the result being different and mostly partisan opinion. The nature of F1 makes it a team sport as such the right of teams making use of team orders to safeguard their interests cannot be taken away from them. It is wrong (and I consider it childish) to believe and argue that a team will favour one driver over the other in a personal way. The first priority/interest of a team are to safeguard constructor points in what they believe is the best way and so making use of what they believe to be their best driver position at the time such orders are used. It should be remembered that it is the constructor’s championship which gets cash to a team and not the driver’s championship.
