If there is a team that can and does have the resources to turn things around mclaren is certainly one of them. A driver doesn’t set up the car the teams engineers does, a driver communicates the cars behaviour on track to the engineers. If a car by design is difficult to set up it will be accordingly difficult for the engineers to set up to meet the driver wishes/likings. When a team is at a flyaway race any parts from the factory can be at any location inside 24 hours. If mclaren manages to sort out their car it will certainly be suited to high speed tracks as they always excel at high speed/top speed tracks.
