If what people want is a "good show" and if they equate randomness and uncertaintly with a "good show", then this type of artificial manipulation of results through premature tire degradation certainly makes for a "good show." If what people want to see is rational engineering excellence and highly skilled, all-out balls to the wall driving rewarded, then this is not the F1 that you love and remember. For me, this F1 is rubbish, recorded on my DVR and if the outcome seems like it has an element of driving skill then maybe I'll watch it before I delete it. And you won't find any Pirellis on my autos.
