Richard, re Webber wheel problem, Webber’s wheel did come off while driving slowly but he did notice and reported the problem as soon as he came out.
I am certain that most teams are now using the wheel nut system as pioneered by Ferrari, that is the wheel nut is part of the wheel now (it stays inside the wheel rim when the wheel is removed) and not come out with the wheel gun, the nut is cercliped loosely into the wheel rim in a way that makes it virtually impossible to cross thread when using the gun to thread it in, I am also certain that using a single retaining nut the threads are left or right handed according (counter) to the rotation of the wheel, any clips/fingers/ nut retention system will prevent the nut from rotating only if the nut is fully home and fully torqued, otherwise these clips/fingers will not prevent the wheel coming off.
