All F1 has to do is instate weight penalties for the top performing teams and bring back legitimate tires. Instead they force unproven technologies like KERS, gimicks like (limited use only) DRS and force minimum weight restrictions which penalize cars that do not abide. Using trash tires to keep the action 'fresh' , who knows what quality control goes in to these things and each pilot is getting the same 'grade' of tire, because there is no incentive for Pirelli to give the best tire they can, only a tire that will cause problems. This is not racing, its entertainment. Weight penalties might be unsporting, but they would give the lessor teams a better chance rather than gimping and hobbling everyone and saying it's fair. F1 needs at least 3 tire manufactures and open standards for tire manufacturing, because nobody outside F1/like series uses those tires (consumer sales.)
