He was runner-up in GP2 in a year when he showed much improved form. It's a shame if can't get at least a testing/reserve seat. Too many highly sponsored no-names are taking up the spots that would be given to real drivers if F1 were more of a sport and less of a business.
As a side note, Jules Bianchi is worthy of being in F1 too, so at least in that particular situation the sport didn't suffer.
