firestorm. a street circuit tends to be more wearing on tyres as it as a more abrasive surface, and also Monaco is heavy on tyres, due to all the twisty corners and acceleration required out of corners. however, as merc can manage their tyres for ONE lap, they could well be on pole and then hold everyone up at least until the first pit stop. so qualifying on the harder of two tyres could be an advantage to those behind.
