@Pete - I'm sure your road car doesn't have the performance limits an F1 car has and a hand made tire. Relating the 2 is ridiculous at best. Don't shoot the messenger That isn't how advertising works. The message going into the subconscious of millions of people every fortnight is Pirelli = Disintegrating rubber. So when they are next standing in the tyre shop trying to choose between Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone etc and they all look the same, people will choose based on price and/or perceived reliability. Oh dear. What do I do? Should I choose Bridgestone or that brand whose tyres explode every other sunday afternoon in the hands of the best drivers driving the best engineered vehicles in the world?
