Nonsense!!! Ferrari pretty much went flatout whenever they wanted yesterday and had no problems with their tires. They just made an extra stop -- something no one else has tried yet.
If you look at what Ferrari did, it had not been done before. Yes, yes, use your tires up... all of them... get in fast laps.. attack, attack. that is what both Alonso and Massa did going from 5th to 1st and 9th to 3rd respectively. Everyone else on the grid should be doing the same next time out, although Monaco is a different, Montreal should be excellent.
If you're watching F1 and think the road tires are the same as F1 compound and construction, then you're an idiot (not you, a general observation)
