rob. have a read of the Pirelli statement. they state that rbr NEVER approached them to change the tyres. further, they say that the change is all to do with their image, and they had got it wrong.
they also blame track debris for the delaminations, so I presume that they do not envisage any debris on the track. a tyre should be capable of resisting such cuts, after all, last years tyres managed ok, as did tyres from other manufacturers in the past
