If there is such a great need to get the tyres tested it should be a three day test for all teams. Regular in-season testing. Mercedes has gained a lot of information on how their car works the tyres. Information they needed to close the gap. Undoubtly they have benefited from this test and therefore got an unfair advantage in the championship battle. Either exclude them or ban them from a number of races. If Mercedes prove to be competitive in the race at Montreal, which is known to be hard on tires, then no doubt they have got an unfair advantage. This kind of test should be carried out by Pirelli and not the team. Means Pirelli runs the car with their test driver and they log all data and telemetry not sharing it with the team. In this case it was Mercedes running the car with their race drivers and logging data and telemetry. Ideal conditions for car development, but not for tire testing...
